Captain's log, stardate 100216.2230. After several days of failed attemptes, Doctor Jayaram has finally synthsized a vaccine for Lieutenant McDunnough. A combination of the sampled mushroom spores, pollen and water mixed togeather counter-acted the viral pathogen that had invaded the Lieutenant's body. There is no trace of the virus left in her, and Lieutenant McDunnough has returned to the Talisman. With her safely back aboard, our empathic guests safely secured, and Pinastri command notified of the Romulan vessel, we have departed for the Gildash system. We are expected to arrive in the Gildash system within the next day.

In 2385 on stardate 100208.1720, the USS Talisman was on course for the first planet in the Kyranovos Gamma star system when Lt. j.g. Joan Faulkes detected a spacial distortion. It was determined that this vessel was an elder designed Romulan light frigate. All attempts to make contact with the vessel failed, though no hostile actions were ever made from the Romulan vessel.
During the course of the mission on the first planet, Lt. Surianna McDunnough contracted a deadly virus from the planet surface. Thanks to the efforts Dr. Genna Thiemen-Jayaram, Lt. McDunnough was able to survive the virus due to the negating effects of a type of pollen indigenous to the planet. Lt. McDunnough and Lt. Shaun Dixon returned to the planet to ensure her survival until a cure was located.
As this was happening, Lt. Cleo Mavendorf had vanished off of the ship. A thorough search of the ship, planet, and surrounding system was conducted but no trace of her could be found. Without warning Lt. Mavendorf re-appeared in sickbay in a demon-like form. She later stated that she had been imprisoned for over a millenia, but this is unconfirmed as the intricaces of vampiric races still elude human knowladge. Lt. Mavendorf was no worse for wear otherwise and retuned to duty.
The nature of the Romulan vessel was finally determined during the internal incidents aboard the Talisman. Due to Dr. Thiemen-Jayaram's empathic abilities, she was able to determine that the beings aboard the Romulan vessel was telepathic human's genetically engineered by the Romulans. An accident had killed the Romluan crew, and left these bio-mechanically engineered humans wandering the galaxy. Once the Talisman had established a contact, the beings were transported to the Talisman and then transferred to the USS Aegis for transport to Pinastri Prime.
Once the mystery of the Romulan vessel had been solved, the Talisman finished up its final task in finding a cure for Lt. McDunnough. Dr. Thiemen-Jayaram was able to synthisize a vaccine using mushroom spore samples from the planet, the pollen and a water sample in conjunction with each other. The resulting effect was a counter-acting of the virus that had infected Lt. McDunnough. With Lt. McDunnough cured and the telepathic super-humans secured, the Talisman departed the Kyranovos Gamma system .
