Captain's log, stardate 110210.1310. With all the recent reoccuring incidents revolving around the vaadwuara, the Talisman has been directed to asses the threat and investigate what they are up to. Our first lead is a D-Class planetoid in a system located 13.8 LY's Rimward of Pinastri IV. SS Tranquility has detected a faint power source on thier long range sensors and we believe it to be eminatting from that moon. We are proceeding at warp three and should arrive in a few short hours.

Events Summary

The USS Talisman was dispatched to investigate readings of a faint power source on a D-Class planetoid on stardate 110210. Upon arrival at the location of the power source, the Talisman discovered a biosphere below the planet's surface that housed some type of facility within it. An away team consisting of Lt. Phoenix Finistair, Ens. Jim Bowie and led by Lt. Commander Lans Starsider was dispatched down to investigate. The away team discovered some sort of abandoned genetics lab which contained one lifeform. The away team released the lifeform from its incubation stasis chamber and activated it. The lifeform was initially determined to be a type of cyborg that could be akin to the Borg. Ens. Bowie attempted to make contact with it through the use of binary language and seemingly caused it to crash. It was also discovered that several of the stasis tubes were Starfleet issue and seemingly stolen. This was the only evidence provided that could link the recent burst of activity from the Vaadwuar to the genetics lab. The decision was made to take the cyborgnetic lifeform back to the Talisman for further study. As Lt. Commander Starsider and Ens. Bowie made preperations in conjunction with engineering teams aboard the ship, Lt. Finistair took another look around the facility to deactivate an anti-transportation shield that had somehow been activated. After several minutes, Lt. Finistair was able to deactivate the field and the cyborg was beamed into a stasis pod that had been transported aboard the ship and connected in the lab. It is unknown wether or not the cyborg as hostile, as it did not make any threatning moves towards the away team. However it did house a type of high energy plasma weapon on its left appendage which may suggest it is. Engineering teams are continuing to study it to learn more of its creators and purpose.
