Captain's log, Stardate 100720.1847. Upon investigating a subspace rupture, the Talisman was attacked by an unknown vessel that came through the rupture. At that time, a second rupture opend and a second unknown vessel appeared and flanked the Talisman. Both ships fired upon the Talisman with some type of plasma discharge. The Talisman returned fire in its defense but still sustained damage. We have since retreated with no sign of pursuit, and are now inthe process of determining what race attacked us.

Event's Summary

On stardate 100720, the USS Talisman was again attacked by an unknown alien race who was previously encountered several weeks before. A subspace rupture appeared without warning and two large vessels similar to the one encountered in the class 11 nebula emerged and opened fire. The Talisman sustained some moderate damage and was forced to withdraw. The attacking aliens did not prusue which gave the Talisman time to recouperate and determine their next strategy. After intercepting and translating a message, the crew of the Talisman that this race planned to execute some "Ethnic Cleansing", presumably of species they felt unworthy to live within their territory. Lieutenant Commander Lans Starsider was able to pinpoint the source of where these subspace ruptures was eminating from and believed this point to be the alien races home base of operations. Further translation of messages from these alien beings revealed their intent to "cleanse" the entire quadrant, which would mean the eventual devestation of the Federation expedition. Left with no other choice, the Talisman moved to intercept and hopefully end this conflict before it had a change to begin.
