Captain's log, stardate 110618.1345. There hasn't been any further Relknok incidents since last week's attack, but I am positive that wasn't the last attack we'll see. After having several of the dead Relknok shuttled up to the Talisman in Cascadia dry dock, Dr. Jayaram was able to make some interesting finds. When she compared these bodies with the ones recovered from our final encounter in the worldship, she discovered the existence of the poison compound she developed from their own blood. The most logical answer for this is after reclaiming their dead when Lieutenant Raymaker and I rescued Commander Meredith, the bodies of the Relknoks we killed were put back into the production process and broken down again. Doing so absorbed the compound into their entire hive, thus any new Relknoks, ships, weaponry and whatnot that worldship produces will be weak and faulty. This is a development that could give Starfleet and edge in the next engagement. We can use every edge we can get our hands on after the route the Relknok's put on us. I currently have Engineering and Security testing our weaponry on samples from the bodies recovered last week to see if there is any difference in effectiveness. Hopefully, this will even the odds a bit.

On stardate 110619, the crew of the USS Talisman made a few breakthroughs in the effort to research defensive measures against the Relknok threat. One such measure was determined by Lt. Commander's Phoenix Finistair and Millenia Infinity. Their solution was to modify a small compliment of Photon Torpedoes that would be more effective against the organic nature of the Relknok's starships. The torpedoes would have the anti-matter warhead removed and a tri-titanium alloy put in its place. This modification makes the torpedo a kinetic projectile and thus far more effectiv against the Relknoks. The drawback to this modification is that it would prove useless against standard shields and as such this is a negligible worry against the Relknok's since they have no shield technology. Engineering additionally modified the TR-116's to make them more effective.
Another solution that was researched by the Talisman's science and operations officers was the use of Theta Radiation as a weapon source. In theory, this type of radiation would be highly effective against any being, no matter how advanced. However, testing was delayed until supply and safety issues can be resolved.
