The USS Shogun crew is still reeling from the disappearance of Captain Ulrich Bechir, but picks up a signal and moves to investigate.

Prelude

First Officers Log

July 23, 1885 (100723)

It has been nearly a week since losing the Captain; however we have been successful in following the trail of the unknown vessel that abducted him from the repair station. While in pursuit of the unknown vessel communications reported that they were picking up an Acoustical Transmission. It appears to be automated, transmitting at 12 second intervals. It is believed to be a distress call, very possibly from the Captain. We cannot afford not to check out the source of the signal, since the signal appears to be coming from the same general direction we are heading. We have set course for the source of the transmission to investigate. We should be arriving at the within a day or so.

Events

The crew of the USS Shogun were following the warp trail of the ship that was suspected to have abducted Capt. Ulrich Bechir. They detected a signal that repeated every 12 seconds, and believed this might be a distress signal sent by their captain. When they got within visual range, they spotted what appeared to be a Voth ship. Initial scans showed no life signs on board the ship, and that it lacked a breathable atmosphere.

Three away teams were sent aboard the Voth ship. One team found signs that indicated that a Bolian had been aboard the ship in its medical bay. The away teams also found several dead Hirogen aboard the ship. Beta team was forced to evacuate when a structural failure injured Commander SVAndrei Baxton, and damaged his environmental suit.

They worked to restore power to the bridge and computer systems. Data from the computer lead the away team to determine that the captain and several other passengers of the Voth ship had been transferred to another vessel roughly 8 hours prior. They immediately began to search for another warp signature, and detected a warp trail leading into another sector.
