Status Report Marines,

2/3 of the Marines were allowed to quit the ship for a short time out . The others had to stay aboard to guard the same respectively for some training, because they did not fulfill the requirements that are set by Command.

I wrote a report to UFSMC Command to get more Marines, because the flagship works with the absolute minimum of Marines possible. This makes it hard for me and my troops to guarantee the safety and the readiness when the CO is in need of us.

The answer from Command was rather short "We have no more Marines. Work with the troops at your disposition!"

Well...so i will do.

I am just back from Shore leave and have done a ship wide walk, stopping to chat to all Senior Officers around on shift. It seems that Engineering are very much completed with their work. The Marines who are left are fully engaged in their training. Security is being tested. We still have the Talaxians on board as our guests, and they certainly are lively distractions for many. I did not manage to meet with the Chief Medical Officer. As I am due a personal medical check up, this remains a priority for me to organise time for an appointment. I hope to meet for lunch shortly with the Chief of Operations for a break down of our next assignments.

*looks at the padd that Staff Sergeant Ruocal handed over and tries to stay calm when asking the Sergeant*

How is it possible that one of my Marines is Missing, Sergeant? Are you sure that he is not aboard? Are you sure that no one from his friends or family saw him since he left the ship? Was no one of his comrades around him, with him when leaving? Have you tried to track his combadge? *gets louder*
No one simply disappears, Sergeant!

*Staff Sergeant Ruocal stands at attention and knows that it has no sense to discuss with his Major when he's angry, but nevertheless tries to say something*

Sir, I......

*Interruption*

You are responsible for this Marines....I am responsible for the Marines on board the USS Durant. I can not play the watchdog for everyone of them , they are no children, they are grownups. They pledged loyalty to the UFS Marine Corps ...they have rights and duties. They had the right to quit the ship and to be back on stardate 160928.0600. Now we have stardate 160928.1139 and you tell me that one marine *checks the name* Corporal Amaro disappeared....just can't be found anymore , was not on deck when he had to be, that you even can't track his combadge? *has to breath 2 times deeply so to calm down again*

Get out of my office , contact security on the SS Tranquility, take some of our men and seach for the Corporal. You have 24 hours to come up with some results...dismissed.

*the sergeant turns around and leaves the Major's office as quick as possible*
*Major Yven looks at the padd, full with anger and concern and says*

Hopefully nothing serious happened to the Corporal. They'll find him ...

*puts aside the padd he had and asks the computer to give him some details about Corporal Amaro*

Computer ...details about the psychological and familiar background of Corporal Amaro.......

*listens to the informations he gets*

*Staff Sergeant Ruocal stands still and looks at the Major, beads of perspiration running down his face*

Sergeant i hope you have good news for me concerning Corporal Amaro?

*The Staff Sergeant hesitates*

Sir....uhm.....it seems as Corporal Amaro has deserted. He got in touch with sort of a spiritual group, this already some time ago and decided on his shore leave to definitely join them.

It seems as the group believes in the superiority of everything that's positronic, off anything that's not human, they believe in thefact that the Borg are a better life form, that the association of human beings with robotic, positronic parts is something you have to aspire to become a better being a superior being.

This group deactivated his commbadge, that we found in one of the lower levels of the Space station in one of the quarters, we also found DNA traces of Corporal Amaro as well as his uniform and some civil clothing so that we have the proof that he was in the room, but as it seems no one saw him from the time he got into the room. He simply disappeared. Security things that he was teleported out on sort of a ship that the sect is in possession off.

There were attempts to find warp traces, but we've got the confirmation that there were more then 13 warp signatures that can not yet been identified. Engineering and Security as well as Intel and a Marine intel detachment are working on the case Sir and they will keep you up to date.

*The Major listened to the story he just heard and seems to be far away with his thaughts when he said to the Staff Sergeant*

Dismissed Sergeant...good job.

* The Sergeant leaves the office of the Major in a hurry. The Major still thinks about the consequences this all will have and the papaerwork that lies in front of him now. Contacting the CO, Marine Command, Security, Intel, Marine Intel, UFS Command and all the others he forgot*
