Captain's Log:

Stardate: 200226

Alert Status: Green

Our exploration of the Ivaldi System continues. We are now in orbit of the second, less habitable Class M planet orbiting the Ivaldi star. Close range scans show the planet rich in minerals, but with no life signs. There is, however, evidence of structures on the surface.

Extreme electrical storms have limited the window in which we can transport, and make shuttle travel impossible. We shall take advantage of the next window to beam down and investigate the planet below. We should have at least two hours before the storm would then close the transport window again.

Voice Recording:

I changed the ship's position in orbit so we could explore the second planet today. At first glance, the planet resembles a disco ball from Earth's retro period. After ensuring it was safe to explore, we beamed down and I was truly stunned to see that it looked like Delta Vega Mining Colony, the place where I spent several years before going off to Earth for a better life. It contained several dwellings, mining equipment, and each dwelling was furnished and contained supplies for at least a week. Nobody was around, however...

We all got a good deal of exploration in and we were preparing to go back when the storms suddenly became worse. We quickly took shelter in the dwellings and spent the next 24 hours using the supplies in the dwellings to sustain ourselves while we waited for the worst of the storm to pass. The next day, we were able to return to Veracruz.
