Captain's Log:

Stardate: 190306

Alert Status: Green

We begin our day in celebration mixed with sadness. Our own Chief of Operations, Commander Fred McCellan is leaving the Veracruz to transfer to the newly commissioned USS Monarch. While we shall miss him here, we know that his skills will be needed on the Monarch as well.

To fill his absence, Commander Gron Syntron is transferring from Vice Chief of Engineering to become our new Chief of Operations, and with perhaps a little bias, my husband Commander Moonprince Rhode is now becoming the Vice Chief of Engineering.

As to our mission, Captain Aryela, along with Chief Science Officer Captain Brit, and Chief Medical Officer Commander Rodney McKay, are taking a runabout to investigate a nearby explosion of stellar matter that is too tight for a full size starship. The Veracruz itself is completing the scans of the area where the planet appeared out of nowhere, and is now gone again after Commander Syntron activated a planetary cloaking field left behind by the race known as the Preservers.

Voice Recording:

Commander McCellan is leaving Veracruz and transferring to the USS Monarch. I'll miss him, but he is needed there...

Commander Syntron, on the other hand, is transferring from being Vice Chief of Engineering to Chief of Operations, so at least I won't be alone in Ops. I hope we can get along, as my Operations chiefs before Commander McCellan weren't overly kind and made life as an Operations officer very difficult for me.

Ensign bebb was promoted to Lt. JG.

USS Veracruz also celebrated their participation in the Interphase Task Force.

Once the time in the holodeck was done, we began our shift and acknowledged that Aryela, Skot and Rodney were off in the San Pedro to study a star that has been spewing stellar matter into the system, while the Veracruz took on supplies.

I did share some of my knowledge regarding trading season and pirate season, but I don't think anyone took it overly seriously.

In the midst of the chatter, we received a hail from the San Pedro and we ended up having to go find them because they were in trouble. We eventually found the shuttle, but no people...

In Service,

Lieutenant Commander LeighAnn Mantis
