CompOps Year in Review - 2015

The Office of Computer Operations (CompOps in abbreviated form) is the coordinating authority for all UFS online representations, as well as the external communities. CompOps coordinates and structures all the information online and manages the (regular) updates to these communities. Hide the bacon.

CompOps Year in Review - 2015

Another year in office, I sure do need a break!

Forums are undergoing quarterly maintenance to ensure any bugs and security issues are ironed out.
UFS IRC and UFS Events Calendar are integrated onto the forums.
Star Trek Themed Smilies are added onto the site.
Thanking for Posts are added onto the site to thank the user for their posts.
Rank Images Upgraded with assistance from Heraldry.
Worked with the Delta Communicator Team to bring their work to the front page.

Worked on reducing issues on the database to the best of the current server's ability.

Upgraded the Wikipedia System to 2015 specifications.
Wiped out access for users that do not require it for their role.

Email Systems
Removed outdated email address as most members are not aware of the emails
Email Distribution Lists Updated
Yearly Compliance Checks now added.

Monthly Offline issues fixed with data provider.
UFS Main Site released with assistance from new team member Lizzy Gracemount.

CompOps Logo Updated.

Since January, Emilie, Miles and I have been working on:

786 CompOps Requests
526 of the requests were issues of the Forums
176 of the requests were issues of the Database
84 of the requests were issues with other parts of the UFS Systems

Our aims in 2016:
Continue to integrate CompOps with other Major Departments of UFS to ensure that CompOps is here for them as well as the members
Email Security and Distribution Lists will be tighten.
Continual updating of the UFS Main Site.
Centralising CompOps Support to be under one roof.

Just like last year...
To close off this post, I would like to thank MilesPrower for his time and energy at hearing me swear and cuss constantly via Google Hangouts as well as his patience at listening to me at all times of the day and night and how Emilie hides between the cookies box and the energy bars when I go hulk like!

Without both of them, our support standard will plummet, especially since our requests to our team has doubled since 2014! You members sure like to tire us poor folks in CompOps!

On behalf of CompOps:

:happy-wavemulticolor: Let's have a great 2016! :happy-wavemulticolor:
